Incense mixtures are like a holy United Nations, All religions seem to have a connection to ritualistically lighting things on fire. The ingredients of these preparations stretch far across the ancient world. Things like galbanum, myrth, ochnya, costus roots, and cassia are like cities on the map of incense. Using my old friend, research, I attempted to make an incense mixture as it may have smelled in antiquity before the common era (B.C.E.). Hence the name!
Pine needles, cloves, various conifers and amber.
Trim the wick to half a centimeter before relighting. Allow the candle to burn to the perimeter of the vessel before blowing out to avoid hollowing.
