What is M‑POWER?

At MECCA, we believe in the power of beauty as a force for change, challenging the norms and stereotypes that hold women back. In 2022, we pledged $25 million over five years to create a legacy of equality and empowerment. Since then, our partnerships, programs, and the collective power of the MECCAverse have inspired ripples of positive change.


2024 has proven that ambition and action—infused with some MECCA Magic—can deliver incredible results. Here, we reflect on the milestones, partnerships, and beautiful moments of 2024 that bring us closer to our vision of achieving gender equality in our lifetime.

Trailblazers Documentary

Trailblazers, a Stan Original Documentary, celebrates the rise of Australian women’s football and the transformative story of the Matildas. In partnership with Stan and Documentary Australia, we shared this story far and wide to empower the next generation. As impact sponsor, our national campaign reached over 77,000 students in 300 schools, as well as sporting clubs, and boardrooms sparking conversations about leadership, courage, and equality.

MECCA x NGV Women in Design Commission

Creativity took centre stage in our partnership with the MECCA x NGV Women in Design Commission, addressing the legacy underrepresentation of women in design and the arts. The third recipient of this five-year commission was Christien Meindertsma, a speculative designer from the Netherlands. This innovative collaboration used an AI enabled 3D printer to produce a giant lamb symbolising the waste in the global wool industry and sparked dialogue (and action!) on how design can solve problems and shape a better world.

Endometriosis Awareness x Remedii Collab

To mark Endometriosis Awareness Month, we collaborated with Remedii founder and entrepreneur Angie Poller, supported through our partner Global Sisters, to produce MECCA-exclusive pain relief packs. These were shared with our retail team to raise awareness of this important health issue faced by 1 in 9 women. This collaboration showed the profound impact of turning adversity into opportunity.

International Day of the Girl

In October, our International Day of the Girl celebration, offered young women a platform to be seen, heard, and celebrated. We partnered with experts on teenage girls, the Flourish Journey, and author Chelsey Goodan to give voice to the diversity of experiences young women navigate today. We also handed the microphone to young people during the campaign to showcase their resilience and creativity.
