Good smells are hard to resist and in the MECCA office, they’re everywhere, on everyone. We spritz based on our mood, our aesthetic, and where we want the day to take us with top-shelf scents that include everyday classics, era-defining notes, and chemistry-bending formulations that smell like you but better.
We tapped the shoulders of our desk buddies to share the intel on the most loved (and spritzed!) perfumes at MECCA HQ, guaranteed to give your senses an instant dopamine hit.
Viv: The Trend Lord
“It's a rite of passage when you start at MECCA to discover your signature scent,” says Digital Marketing Social Lead Viv. “The first time I spritzed Santal 33 EDP from Le Labo, I knew it was ‘the one’ for me.
“I receive a compliment every time I wear it, but when I tell people it’s Santal 33, they’re shocked – I think because it smells a little different on everyone. I can’t get enough of it; I love how woody and spicy it is without being too overpowering, and I’m already on my fourth bottle!
“Another fragrance on high rotation is Glossier You EDP. The first time I tried it was in New York and bought a bottle to bring home. At the time I wasn’t sure how I was going to get hold of another bottle so reserved for ‘special occasions’ – but now that we stock it at MECCA, I can spritz away. It truly does smell like you – but better!”
Reine: The Luxuriator
“I select my fragrances with the same discerning eye I apply to my makeup and wardrobe choices: guided by my mood and aspirations for the day,” explains Brand Manager Reine.
“Currently, Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s APOM EDP has become my fragrance for both day and night. This stunning scent features a soft amber base, beautifully elevated by a lavender-orange blossom accord. It radiates warmth and sunshine, leaving a subtle, enchanting trail that attracts many compliments!
“For a more intimate touch, I adore Powder EDP by Perfumer H. This delicate perfume blends bergamot, mandarin and raspberry leaves with a heart of rose and a base of iris, vanilla and musk. The result is a soft, powdery fragrance that evokes the freshness of clean linens, wrapping me in comfort and joy. I love to spritz it on my clothes for an extra layer of cosiness throughout the day.
“For evenings out, Tubéreuse Astrale by Maison Crivelli Extrait de Parfum; its bold and captivating scent makes a statement wherever I go.”
Alison: The New Classic
“Even though I’m never sure how to pronounce it, Maison Crivelli Papyrus Moléculaire EDP is my ‘never get tired of’ scent that I am slightly obsessed with,” Head of Customer Insights Alison tells us. “This scent has everything in just the right proportions – sensual sandalwood balanced with a touch of tobacco and leather. It’s rich and deep but also light and lively, and a small amount lasts all day.
“Another fragrance I reach for a lot is Maison Francis Kurkdjian 724 EDP, this one is said to be inspired by New York City, but for me it’s a blustery sea breeze on a spring day. It’s fresh and energetic, and I adore the hint of jasmine combined with citrus.”
Shivan: The Street Stopper
“I’m currently obsessed with a few new fragrances,” Digital E-Commerce Analyst (and MECCA Beauty Board member) Shivan reveals. “Charlotte Tilbury’s More Sex EDP is my top pick – it’s warm, woody and amber notes are seriously addictive and smell different on everyone.
“Maison Crivelli’s Oud Maracujá Extrait de Parfum is next-level luxe with tuberose, leather and musk – super bold and classy. And KORRES Cashmere Kumquat EDT? It’s a cosy, zesty mix of kumquat, mandarin and orange, plus almond, cashmere and vanilla. Each scent has its own unique vibe, so I switch them up based on my mood or what’s going on that day.”
Kerri: The Sentimentalist
“Two years ago I converted from a ‘signature scenter’ to a ‘fragrance wardrober’ and it healed my Libran indecision (and love for all things beautiful). My collection is one of my finest treasures.
“I love Tsu Lange Yor’s Luca EDP. It smells like crisp denim and glossy magazines, and makes me feel instantly cooler. The brand’s heritage is akin to my own, making it an extra special and personal spritz.
“Then there’s Diptyque Eau Duelle EDP, a dark, mysterious and deeply sentimental vanilla I’ve repurchased who knows how many times over the past decade; my first-ever luxury fragrance purchase.
“More recently, Dries Van Noten’s Raving Rose EDP has been added to my collection. I’m usually not the rose type, but this scent has a distinct grounding of pepper; kind of like when the waiter comes up to you at a trattoria to pepper your pasta and you never say ‘when’.”
