Nine months ago, we announced that multidisciplinary designer Bethan Laura Wood would be the second annual recipient of the MECCA x NGV Women in Design Commission – and now, we're thrilled to reveal Wood’s incredible colour-struck piece, 'Kaleidoscope-O-Rama', now on display as part of the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV)’s Triennial exhibition (which, by the way, is free to visit!).

The centrepiece of Wood's work is a bookcase – but unlike any you've seen before. A 360-degree rotating structure, it allows for multiple points of view, encouraging all to gather around and find a new perspective.

The MECCA x NGV Women in Design Commission invites internationally renowned female designers and architects to create new and important work for the NGV Collection. It is part of the ongoing partnership between the NGV and MECCA's social change movement, M-POWER, which works to elevate women in art and design – as well as inspire new generations to pursue creative careers.

For more information on how to visit 'Kaleidoscope-O-Rama', head to the NGV website here. To learn more about Wood – her works, her inspiration, and her take on beauty – hit play as she joins MECCA In the Chair here!
