5 Glitter Eyes, From Slight Shimmer to Serious Sparkle

Whether it’s a dust of lustre to run errands or an all-out glitter eye that rivals Euphoria’s most iconic looks, there’s a way to ‘do’ glitter for every occasion. Yep, even a weekly peruse of the grocery story is worthy of a strategic sparkle (refer to level one).
For party - and every - season inspiration, we asked three MECCA HQ team members to test all that glitters. Here's how to outshine everyone (or just add an immense amount of joy to your day).
Level 1: Everyday glitter
This is exactly the look Half Magic’s founder and Euphoria’s head of makeup Donni Davy suggested when she coined the phrase ‘Grocery Store Glitter’. Just enough to put a subtle twinkle in your eye.
Sweep MECCA MAX’s Zoom Shadow Stick Matte in shade ‘Taupe’ through the crease. Then, using your fingertip, press a silvery shimmer to the inner corners of your eyes with the Half Magic Glitter Puck in shade ‘Cyber Diamond’.
Level 2: Easy copper wing
Couldn’t master winged eyeliner if your life depended on it? Glitter adverse? Try this subtle shimmery brown wing instead for a chic grown-up take on glitter.
Thanks to Violette’s genius gel liner/shadow formula, you’ll get a vivid, twinkling matte eye with no effort and no fallout. We used the VIOLETTE_FR Yeux Paint Twinkling in shade ‘Marron Glace’, tracing the doe-foot applicator across the lash line from inner corner to the outer eye, moving the wand in an upward direction to achieve the perfect ‘flick’. Resist the urge to turn your head; it’s easier to achieve even wings when looking directly into the mirror.
Level 3: Silver glitter pop
A silvery glitter eye you can apply with one fingertip in the back of a taxi – while going around the corner. It’s the kind of showstopping seasonal sparkle worthy of every evening event on our calendar this Holiday season.
Start with a sweep of a wet-look white iridescence across the eyelid using Urban Decay’s 24 7 Moondust Eyeshadow in shade ‘Cosmic’. Then for a shiny topper, press Half Magic’s Glitter Puck in shade ‘Cyber Diamond’ over all the way up to brows. Maximum iridescence, minimal effort.
Level 4: Green and glittery
Shades of green haven’t been reserved for Christmas day alone this year, thanks to the cultural impact of Charli XCX’s ‘Brat’ – so you can comfortably wear this look to your family festivities, or to a music festival. Our take on the trend is bold, twinkly, a little smudgy, and easy to nail.
Take the MECCA MAX’s Zoom Shadow Stick Matte in shade ‘Khaki’ along the lash line. Use the shade ‘Precious Metal’ from MECCA MAX’s limited-edition Flying Colours 25-Shade Eyeshadow Palette to trace over your liner, dragging outwards to create a slight wing. Dip into the shade ‘IYKYK’ for a glittery, green pop over the top.
Level 5: Purple glitter dream
