But all is not lost – your makeup routine just needs a winter shake up (and a ‘Positano’ look and feel).
It’s time to bring back dewy goodness and a warm flush: here’s how to transform dry winter skin with a radiant, Euro summer-inspired everyday makeup look.
Start with radiance boosters
1. Give dull winter skin the flick with Dr. Barbara Sturm Glow Drops, which are formulated with light-reflecting pigments that enhance your skin’s natural radiance. Apply all over after moisturising.
2. Amp up the glow by tapping Westman Atelier’s Liquid Super Loaded Tint in ‘Peau de Rose’ across your cheeks and the high points of your face, for skin that looks alive.
Reach for a gel-like foundation
3. In winter, swap full-coverage matte or powder foundation for a gel or liquid formulation to create a sheer, dewy finish. We used Chantecaille Future Skin (our model’s shade is ‘Nude’); its gel-like texture glides on and offers lightweight coverage and hydration.
Add a hint of bronze
4. Give your skin a kiss from the sun (minus the actual sun) with a hint of RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer swept across the cheeks and nose.
5. For a natural flush, dab a small amount of VIOLETTE_FR Bisou Blush in ‘Aissa’ on the high points of your cheeks and blend with a fluffy brush.
Set everything in place
6. Press RMS Beauty “Un” Powder in ‘Translucent’ into the skin, focusing on the under-eye, nose and cheek, to set everything in place (and minimise 3pm shine).
Finish with a kiss of colour
7. Keep things looking dewy with a creamy eyeshadow. Using your ring finger, apply Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize in ‘Exagger-eyes’ and finish with a coat of By Terry Mascara Terrybly in ‘Black’.
8. Complete the look with a peachy or coral lipstick that is the antidote to ‘cloudy with a high chance of rain’ days. We used Chantecaille Lip Chic in ‘Amour’ with a lip brush for the smoothest of smooth applications.
