Best Goop Products Hero 16x9

Words by Zara Wong and Sherine Youssef

Gwyneth Paltrow knows how to get people talking.

Gwyneth Paltrow knows how to get people talking. After doing the whole acting thing (and winning an Oscar, thank you very much), the actress added ‘lifestyle entrepreneur’ to her CV and is in the midst of building her goop empire. Launched in 2016, the brand’s line of high-performing skincare essentials (we’re talking scalp to toes) combine clinically-proven actives with purpose-led formulas that are cruelty-free and made without things like petroleum, phthalates, parabens, SLS, SLES, PEGs, TEA, DEA, silicones, artificial dyes or fragrances. It's all in the name of giving goop-ers the kind of skin and glow you'd only see on a red carpet.

From peels and scrubs to one of the best dry body brushes we've ever tried (big call, right?), consider this your goop crib sheet for the brand's must-have products.

This has been a goop bestseller here at MECCA. "It's one of my favourites, and the results seem instantaneous," Paltrow tells us. Inspired by professional microdermabrasion, this has micro-exfoliating minerals and glycolic acid for a double dose of exfoliation (physical and chemical) that will polish, buff and smooth the complexion without causing micro-tears on the surface of the skin, which can compromise the skin barrier. The texture is lush (think: thick and mousse-like), and with the addition of Australian Kakadu plum for a hit of vitamin C (hello, glow). Skin will look both refined and radiant.

Paltrow again looked to in-salon treatments for this peel, which was inspired by professional chemical peels that retexturise skin so goop-ers can wake up looking all the glowier. "We don't call it the GOOPGLOW collection for nothing!" she says. Glycolic acid is the smallest naturally-occurring alpha hydroxy acid, so it gets absorbed even deeper and faster than its counterparts. Use this one once a week to whisk away dead skin cells and to encourage cell regeneration, while making skin feel smoother and look healthier.

We all know the benefits of daily body brushing – boosting circulation and the lymphatic system, energising the skin and lifting dead and dry skin cells – and this brush makes it easy. Ergonomically designed and made from pure, natural sisal, use it before you jump in the shower or take a bath. Working in circular motions, start brushing at your feet, moving up towards your heart. Expect ridiculously smooth limbs when you towel off.

GOOPGENES All-In-One Nourishing Face Cream

Described as a "supercream" by Paltrow, this whipped butter face cream does it all. Packed with plant-based actives and adaptogens (among them: squalane, ceramides and caviar lime) to plump the appearance of skin and add some radiance and glow, a little goes a surprisingly long way. Its whipped, balm-like texture sets it apart from other daily moisturisers and absorbs into the skin incredibly quickly. You can use it morning and night on your face, neck and décolletage!

This is the kind of body scrub that will very quickly turn your next shower into a five-star, sensorial experience. First, you get the grainy texture (that's five salts, including Himalayan pink salt, Dead Sea salt, Celtic Sea salt, New Zealand solar salt and epsom salt) that gently polish skin. You then also get the essential oil blend of helichrysum, rosemary, grapefruit, and peppermint that tickle the senses, plus rosehip, moringa and olive oils for mega moisturising. It makes for what is sure to be an indulgent (and super hydrating) shower moment.
