Ariel Tejada (@makeupbyariel) is the globally recognised makeup artist responsible for some of the past decade’s most iconic makeup moments. As glam squad member and close collaborator of Kylie Jenner, the internet’s unofficial ‘face’ of beauty, his evolution as an artist and trend pioneer has been long documented and celebrated; from the sharp contouring and heavy ‘Instagram’ makeup of the 2010s, to the ultra-refined, skin-forward glow of current day. 

In this instalment of In the Chair, Ariel joins us in the MECCA studio to answer our questions about his cult-coveted collection of brushes in partnership with Morphe, the most memorable looks he’s created over the years (and the faces he did them on), and the makeup tips he keeps close to his chest.
