MECCA Tries Kosas BB Burst: Everything You Wanted in a Skin Tint

The latest tint to hit our shelves (and soon, your beauty bags) is courtesy of Kosas - who went from niche, indie brand to viral fame thanks to their incredible formulas and their Hailey Bieber-led fanclub.
Their BB Burst Tinted Gel Cream is a ‘your skin but better’ product - a hydrating tinted gel cream with a light buildable coverage and a natural finish. Kosas say it’s a new take on tinted moisturiser, formulated with active ingredients like copper peptides, zinc and hyaluronic acid to leave your skin feeling smooth and plump, and to help reduce the appearance of redness.

With her warm olive skin tone, Serena, MECCA’s Head of Store Experience, knows the struggle of finding complexion products that are actually a match, telling us: “It's not easy to find the perfect shade.”
Luckily, she loves Kosas’ TikTok-famous Revealer Concealer (she wears shade 07 N), not to mention their beloved lip oils, so trying out the BB Burst Tinted Gel Cream wasn’t so much a leap of faith, as a sure thing.
“I usually go for a tint that doesn't look too heavy, and this definitely ticked [all my] boxes – I am obsessed with it,” she said.
She added, “I loved that it was lightweight, sheer but buildable. And I loved the blurring effect and finish.”

External Communications Manager Sarah is a fan of the iconic Kosas brow products, but was yet to dip her toes into their complexion collection.
Peering into her makeup bag, you’ll see the well-loved tinted moisturiser Sarah’s been using for “as long as I can remember”; but after trying it out, BB Burst might just take its place!
She adored the tint’s ‘your skin, but better finish’, describing it as “dewy, glowy – all the things we love, with a nice natural finish!”
“I might be converted, to be honest. I feel like the staying power is better and it's got slightly more coverage,” she added.
Steven wears ‘Medium Deep Neutral Warm 32’
Opting to apply the tint with fingertips, Influencer Relations Manager Steven loved how simple it was to blend BB Burst into his skin: “It was really easy to use! I used my hands – no brushes at all. It's just a few little dabs and it’s on,” he said.
Another Revealer Concealer devotee (it’s a never-skip step in his morning routine) Steven praised BB Burst’s equally skin-like, hydrating finish: “I felt like it blended really nicely into my skin straight away and it left a nice dewy finish.”
Aliya wears ‘Light Medium Neutral 21’
PR Assistant Aliya loves the coverage her daily foundation delivers, and wasn’t sure if BB Burst’s skin tint formula would be enough for her.
The verdict? “When I put it on, I just loved the finish,” she explained. “I found it was really buildable. It did a good job at neutralising my redness, which was quite surprising.”
In fact, it’s earned a place in her roster as a staple for ‘no makeup-makeup’ days (“When I want to wear something lighter”): “Right now I've only been using concealer, but when I want something to cover my redness, this is going to be it,” she said.
