It was in 2014, on the occasion of Baccarat’s 250th anniversary, that the collaboration with Maison Francis Kurkdjian saw the light. During their encounter, the secrets behind the iconic scarlet red crystal inspired the creation of this unique fragrance. In a stunning metamorphosis, clear crystal gradually fuses with 24-karat gold powder at 540 degrees Celsius (1,004°F) and turns bright red: it’s the rouge à l’or (red made of gold). That is how Baccarat Rouge 540 was born.
