Use the matte shades (like Buck) to shape, contour, and define the eyes.
Use the metallic (like Sidecar) and shimmer shades (like Sin or Half Baked) to highlight, brighten, and add dimension to the eyelids and inner corner.
Use the satin shades (like Virgin) to transition the matte and shimmer shades to blend them together seamlessly.
Prep your eyelids: Start by applying an eyeshadow primer, like Eyeshadow Primer Potion, to create a smooth base for the eyeshadows. This will help the colors to adhere better and last longer. Make sure to prime from your lash line to brow bone and inner corner to the outer corners for maximum coverage.
Select 3 shades that complement each other. Typically, you will want to choose your lightest shade for highlighting, a medium shade to define the crease of the eye, and a darker shade for the outer corner and/or to create depth. Select the shades that you want to use based on the look you want to achieve.
Apply your lightest shade: Using a flat eyeshadow brush, apply the lightest shade to the mobile eyelid starting at the inner corner and blending it towards the center. This will help brighten and open your eyes.
Apply your medium shade: Take a fluffy blending brush and apply the medium shade to the crease. Start at the outer corner of the crease and use a back-and-forth windshield wiper motion to blend the color evenly throughout the crease. This will create a seamless transition of color and add dimension to the eyes.
Apply your darkest shade: If you want to add more depth to your eye look, use a smaller fluffy brush to apply the darkest of the three shades to the outer corner of your eyelid and blend it slightly up towards the crease. Blending this shade up towards the crease will help create a seamless transition of color and add depth and definition to the eyes. You can also use any of the matte medium to deep shades and smudge them along the lower lash-line for added intensity.
Blend and soften: Take a clean blending brush and gently blend the eyeshadow colors together to ensure a seamless transition between the shades. This will help to create a well-blended eye look.
Highlight the brow bone and inner corners: Use a light shimmery or matte shade from the palette that is slightly lighter than your skin in tone to highlight the brow bone and/or inner corner. Apply just under the arch of the eyebrow to lift and accentuate the eyes. Apply to the inner corner of the eyes to make them look more awake or refreshed.
Remember, practice makes perfect! These guidelines are meant to help you get started, but feel free to experiment and customize your eye look based on your preferences and creativity. Try using different color combinations and textures using the Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette to discover new looks and possibilities. Enjoy exploring and have fun with your makeup.
